The OSU Museum of Art Advocates support the museum and its outreach to the community through their advocacy, volunteering, and/or financial contributions. The Art Advocates envision an expansion of the community and regional participation and support for the social, cultural, and educational opportunities offered by the museum.
Art enriches the lives of all it touches. Advocates help to spread that touch throughout the community. As an Advocate, you will bring the museum to life for so many! Being an Advocate is easy because you can choose how you support the museum and help grow the emerging artistic culture of OSU and Stillwater.
The museum has frequently been referred to as Stillwater’s best kept secret. Share that secret with your friends, family, and neighbors.
“A goal of the Art Advocates is to assure that the museum is not Stillwater’s best kept secret. It is certainly no secret that my experiences as an OSU Museum of Art Advocate are enriched by the unique opportunities afforded me to interact with and to learn from artists, art historians, plus a variety of art professionals. Art captures and preserves history. It is a joy to be involved with the OSU Museum of Art.”

OSU Art Advisory Council Chair
Volunteering is another opportunity for Art Advocates to share the excitement of art with the community. Opportunities include:
• Assisting with Family Days
• Assisting staff in planning events, such as receptions, and artist talks
• Serving as greeter during special events
• Assisting with planning an annual gala fundraiser
• Assisting the director in planning special tours and trips
Please note that Art Advocates may choose to volunteer to assist with these programs at any time, and are not obligated to support every event as many recur throughout the year.
Advocates are a crucial part of our success. To say thank you for your time and efforts, Advocates may enjoy:
· Invitation-only curator tours
· Invitation-only studio visits
· VIP events
· Opportunities to participate in the museum travel program
As a special gift to Advocates pledging $100 or more, you will receive a copy of our Sharing a Journey catalogue, which celebrates our inaugural exhibition and features prominent works from our permanent collection.
