Visiting Artist Presentation - Ania Jaworska

Donald W. Reynolds School of Architecture Building - Auditorium

Ania Jaworska, emerging architect and 2017 finalist for MoMa PS1’s Young Architect Program, will speak as a part of the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art’s exhibition In the Mind of a Collector. Jaworska’s presentation titled In Equal Parts: About Architecture, Spaces and Objects explores the interaction between architecture, art and design. Using simple and bold forms, Jaworska communicates humor and cultural references through her work. Jaworska’s work juxtaposes opposite ideas and concepts to work together. Her unconventional work simultaneously pays homage to historical and traditional architectural concepts while also undercutting it. Playing with opposite ideas within art and architecture provides a slightly cynical commentary on what the architectural world defines as standard design.
